To me, filmmaking is like an audio/visual safari – you never know what you’ll discover while exploring a subject’s life. I’m always moved by the experiences that shape people’s lives and driven to convey their unique stories in a way that provokes a deep emotional response in the viewer.
Karen has produced, directed and written scripts for documentaries as well as educational programs, and promotional campaigns. With 25 years of industry experience, she is a seasoned producer/director/writer and interviewer. In recognition of her work, she has received two Emmy Awards, four Emmy nominations, a Parents' Choice Award and two Telly Awards.
With her partner Kelly Lynch, she co-founded On Call Creative. Together they develop print and video content for non-profit, government and corporate initiatives. OnCallCreative.com
Clients include: U.S. Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Small Business Association, National Science Teachers Association, National Basketball Association, Maryland and New Jersey Departments of Agriculture, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors.
In addition to freelance production work and projects for On Call Creative, she is working to complete two documentaries: the true-crime story, “Does Anyone Know My Name: The Case of the Boy Under the Billboard” and "The Gift of the Dragon King: Gross National Happiness in the Kingdom of Bhutan".
